We wrote to you earlier about a very interesting book written recently by David Rozelle about his years growing up at the Taylor Orphan Asylum in the 1940’s. The title is The Kid Who Climbed the Tarzan Tree and it is available from the Little Creek Press here.
Mr. Rozelle will be speaking at the Racine Public Library on April 3rd, 2 p.m., and at the Preservation Racine meeting at Meadowbrook Country Club on April 7th. Both events are open to the public. The Preservation Racine event includes a dinner at a cost of $20 for those who wish to come early. The event itself begins at 7 p.m.
Either of these events should be of special interest for residents of the Village of Elmwood, particularly those of us who remember the original building. For those who don’t, it is a great opportunity to learn about the history of the Taylor Home in a very entertaining way.
