Dear Village Residents,
We’d like to provide an update on Phase 2 of our road improvement project, scheduled for this summer. Due to upcoming water main replacements by the City of Racine Water Utility, the original list of roads has been adjusted.
The following roads will be resurfaced as part of Phase 2:
- Standish Lane
- Maryland Avenue (portion)
- Wheelock Drive
- Green Meadow Lane
The following roads have been postponed and moved to Phase 3:
- North Elmwood Drive
- A portion of Maryland Avenue
- Kensington Court
- Saratoga Court
These roads were removed from Phase 2 because the Racine Water Utility plans to replace the water mains underneath them. Unfortunately, that work may not happen until 2028. We are actively coordinating with the City and will keep residents informed as we learn more.
We’re also pleased to announce that Ernie Rossi of Rossi Construction will serve as the construction manager for this phase. If you have any questions or concerns during the project, please reach out to the administration office.
Construction is expected to begin the week after the 4th of July and will likely continue through September or possibly into October.
In addition, please note that Racine County will be repaving Lathrop Avenue this summer. As a county highway, that project is managed separately, but we’re excited to see improvements there as well.
Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to improve our village infrastructure.
Warm regards,
The Village Board of Trustees
