FAQ

Where is the Village Hall?

Village operations are at the “Taylor Complex” located at 3131 Taylor Ave in Racine, WI. Building #1 is where our Administration Office is located, and Building #3 contains our Hall for meetings. The Hall and Gym located in Building #3 can be rented out by visiting here.

In what school district is Elmwood Park?

Elmwood Park is located in the Racine Unified School District. The School District is governed by an elected body, which is separate from the Village Board.

Contact the Racine Unified School District Office at (262) 635-5600

How do I register to vote?

Adults 18-years or older who have been residents of the Village for at least 10 days may register to vote at Village Hall. Photo identification and proof of residency (such as a utility bill or bank statement) is required to register. If you have been issued a current and valid WI driver license or WI DOT-issued ID card you must supply the number. If you have not been issued a WI driver license or a WI DOT-issued ID, you must provide the last four digits of your Social Security number during registration.  Residents should register at the Administration Office during regular business hours through the Friday prior to election day. Voters can register at the polls on Election Day. Eligible voters can register online at myvote.wi.gov.

My garbage was not picked up. What do I do?

The Village contracts with Johns Disposal for residential garbage and recycling collection. Solid waste is picked up at curbside each Monday 6am – 6pm except on holidays, when collections will be made the following day. Recyclables are picked up at curbside every other Monday, or the dates posted on Johns Disposal Website.

If your garbage or recycling was not collected, you must call Johns Disposal at (262) 473-4700. Village of Elmwood Park Calendar can be found here.

How do I reserve space at the Hall and/or Gym?

Please contact our Hall and Gym Sales Rep, Kendal Barriere, at: rental@vil.ep.wi.us OR text at 262-748-5849

Who takes care of my water service?

Village properties are served through the Racine Water Utility. Property owners receive bills directly from the Utility if they are connected to their systems. For billing, connection or other issues, please contact them at 262-636-9181.

Can you sell &/or possess fireworks?

No person may sell, possess with intent to sell, or use any fireworks within the Village limits.

How do I view my property survey?

The Village only maintains copies of surveys that were submitted with building permits/plans. There is not a Surveyor on staff at the village who handles property surveys and we do not have recent copies of surveys for a majority of properties in Elmwood Park. If you need to obtain a current property survey you will need to contact a private surveying company. You may access the Racine County GIS website and use the interactive map to view property lines for all properties in the county. Further inquiries can be made to the Racine County Register of Deeds.

If you have any other questions, please contact our office at (262) 554-7818.
